Ariana Gravanis, an LA native, moved to New York City to study at Touro College. She then went on to receive her Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Baruch College, CUNY. Her practicum was at Children of Promise, NYC where she worked with children of incarcerated parents in an after school clinic. She continued on with a traineeship at Counseling in Schools where she worked with at-risk adolescents at a middle school in Bushwick, Brooklyn. There she ran individual and group sessions using behavioral therapy techniques, focusing on emotional regulation and self esteem.
Ariana moved back to Los Angeles since she missed the beautiful weather and to spend more time with family. She joined Counseling Center of Santa Monica, working with individuals trying to rebuild their lives while coping with difficult medical conditions and mental ailments. Ariana also spent time working at The Los Angeles Jewish Home as a social worker, with residents suffering from Dementia and offering emotional support to their families. Ariana has training in Trauma Focused CBT and is interested in specializing in trauma and grief therapy. When Ariana isn’t seeing clients at Thrive you can find her playing with her puppy, Charlotte.
